ISTE 7: Analyst
Educators understand and use data to drive their instruction and support students in achieving their learning goals. Educators:

7a
Provide alternative ways for students to demonstrate competency and reflect on their learning using technology.

7b
Use technology to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessments that accommodate learner needs, provide timely feedback to students and inform instruction.

7c
Use assessment data to guide progress and communicate with students, parents and education stakeholders to build student self-direction.
Artifact 1: Quiz-like Games
Finding ways to incorporate learning while also having fun is something that is really important to me. I have found that my students really enjoy the quiz games such as Blooket. Through Blooket I can create quiz questions that students answer, but they are able to play games at the same time. At the end I can get the results of the quiz to analyze student ability. This artifact connects to substandards 7a and 7b because it is an alternative way to assess students (formatively or summatively) in a digital way.

Artifact 2: Project Based Learning
This artifact is a website that discusses project based learning and some tools to get educators started. There are essentially four artifacts within this one website. There is a infographic on project based learning, an interactive google slide on project based learning, a tutorial on Thinglink (also seen on the Facilitator page), and an interactive video using a tool called Edpuzzle. Project based learning is a great way to incorporate alternative ways to assess students. The tool Edpuzzle is also another way to have students watch videos and then reflect on them as they watch. This artifact relates to substandard 7a because it provides ways to alternatively assess students, often times using digital tools.

Artifact 3: Google Classroom with Mote Chrome Extension
Through Google Classroom, I am able to grade and leave feedback for students. Especially being online, I noticed that sometimes written feedback can take a lot of time and it sometimes feels impersonal. I came across the Mote Chrome Extension that allowed me to record my feedback to students. Not only did this make it easier on me, but it allowed students and parents to hear my voice in the feedback I gave them. The feedback that is linked to the button below is in regards to a getting to know you activity that my class and I participated in at the beginning of the year. This artifact connects to substandard 7c because it provides a way of communication in regards to assessment and feedback.
