ISTE 6: Facilitator

Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students. Educators:

6a

Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in both independent and group settings.

6b

Manage the use of technology and student learning strategies in digital platforms, virtual environments, hands-on makerspaces or in the field.

6c

Create learning opportunities that challenge students to use a design process and computational thinking to innovate and solve problems.

6d

Model and nurture creativity and creative expression to communicate ideas, knowledge or connections.

Artifact 1: Google Classroom Wonder Book Study

I created a book study for the book Wonder. I created it through a Google Classroom shell. Through this classroom page I included vocabulary, story elements, summarizing, and fun activities for students to participate in. There were activities that required students to work independently, as well as groups. This artifact connects to substandards 6a, 6b, and 6d because it involves independent and group work, is in a virtual environment, and creative ways to show knowledge. Invite Link

Artifact 2: Moodle Course

I created a moodle course based around the basics of crafting with your cricut. It is a beginners course that instills various ways of creating projects with your cricut cutting machine. It also offers ways for students to collaborate, discuss, and share about their projects throughout the week. This moodle course relates to substandard 6b because it was a virtual environment that provided instruction and learning strategies to create crafts.

Artifact 3: Thinglink Tutorial

This artifact is a tutorial over how to use Thinglink. Thinglink is an online program that allows notes and presentations to be created through a visual experience. In the tutorial, I model how to make a presentation and then talk a little bit about it. It is important that not only students, but other teachers can have a visual of how to create something in new programs. I also like how this program acts as another option of a makerspace for students. This artifact connects to substandard 6b and 6c because it is a virtual environment that provides ways for students to present in a creative way.
