Infographics!

I couldn't decide which infographic I created I liked better. The one on the left is so simple and gets the points across nicely. However, I felt it was missing something. This is where the one on the right comes in with some extra pictures/graphics. I'm not sure which one I like better, so I decided I would post both.

Learning Objectives:

The audience for this infographic is for teachers. It could work as a reflection of how they are currently teaching their classes. Do students have choice and some control, or is it primarily teacher led instruction? This infographic can also showcase how project based learning can be different than the traditional teaching model. Project based learning puts a lot of the choices and learning in the students' hands, while the teachers are there to help advise and direct how to complete the project.

Professional Application:

Like I mentioned above, the audience is for teachers. Primarily K-12 teachers. I currently work at the elementary level (5th grade) and I am looking at different teaching techniques to allow students to take ownership of their learning. Project based learning has been something that I have looked into and it seems very effective in the classroom. I would like to connect with other K-12 teachers and see how they have incorporated project based learning in their classroom, but also to bring recognition/awareness to project based learning to teachers who may have not heard about it before.

I could see myself using infographics a lot in my instruction. Especially when introducing a new concept, an infographic could be a great visual for some students. I also think teaching students how to make infographics could be a great way to incorporate technology, but also work on their "summary" and "big ideas" skills. I think infographics could also be great ways to put together quick picture PD on something that can be used within the classrooms.
